I'm curious to know why they switched from a power supply fan plug on my
earlier A7S333 to a two pin power supply thermal header on the A7N8X-X. The
power supply has the customary three pin plug.

Look again, there is a 3 pin PWR fan connector as well as pwr temp
connector.
The 2 pin is only for a PSU that has a thermal sensor in it.

I am curious if you knew what that plug on the A7S333 board was for
and even more curious if you know what the Thermal Header plug is for on the
a7n8x-x

Actually, I did some reading after posting and realized that they are two
completely different things. The three prong plug is to monitor the power
supply fan's rpm's. The header is a thermal sensor. Right???

Are we talking about the same motherboard? I don't see the power supply fan
connector on the board at all and it's not in the motherboard layout
illustration on page 1-6 of the manual. There is a chassis fan connector and
a CPU fan connector. Where is the one for the power supply?

-X model (poor mans edition) contains only two connector.
