Hi everybody...

....I'm Gabriele from Italy and I have a problem with my ASUS A7N8X-X
Motherboard: actually my computer only reboots and never shuts down perhaps
because I haven't the suspend setting in the control panel... I'd like to
shut down my PC using the normal Windows option in the Start Menù. My system
is composed by an Athlon XP 2000+, 512 MB Ram DDR 333, GeForce 3 Ti 200 64
Mb, Hard Disk Maxtor 60 Gb, DVD Pioneer 12x, Yamaha 8x8x24x CD Recorder,
Sound Blaster Live.

Best regards...
Gabriele

With Windows XP PRO, try to enter 1 for the key value of
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows
NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon\PowerdownAfterShutdown .

Suggestion: install service pack 1 for XP, if you use windows XP.
Nforce2 chipset is simply too new to a 2 year old OS like XP.

Similar procedure for windows 2000.

Win9x, - don't know.

Further: in bios under power settings, choose A3 acpi mode, and set
the wake-up functions you like, keyboard, etc.

best regards

John
