I am having troubles setting up my new motherboard. The max speed I can get
is 133*12.5 giving 1666MHz. I have tried setting to the recommended of
133*15 but my bios has a multiplier setting of 7/15, and so the motherboard
selects the lower rate giving 931MHz. Is there a way for me to get the
motherboard to select the higher rate?

Hey Karl,

So in the BIOS were you able to set the
CPU Ext. Freq. to 133 &
CPU Freq. Multiple to 15?

I'm not sure which setting 7/15 as I didn't see it in the BIOS...

I set the CPU Freq. Multiple to AUTO and it detected my 2500+ fine.
I had to change the CPU Ext. Freq to 166.

Yea, Same with me.. it has the 7/15 option, the only way I get 15 is to let
it autodetect it

I had the same problem with my new A7N8X. Loaded the latest BIOS 1005 and
everything is ok now.

just leav it on auto. i just built a box for a friend with close to the same
specs as yours 2400+ but i used pc2100ddr. cant see how fast it is running
on first post but in windous has it @ 2000mhz like it sayes it is. out of
all the boards i build on the ezayest and most problem free is asus.

thanks all that posted. I found out that the store had sold me a 2000+ in a
2400+ box. I'd thrown away the box so now i'm stuck with a 2000+. Not as
quick but still works ok.

Cheers, karl
