Anyone used one of these mobos? The one I just built into a system
does NOT beep on post, in fact, no beeps on errors either. I tried my
backup speaker also, so I am certain it's not a speaker problem, and
yes, I did connect the speaker to the correct header pins. Other than
this odd feature, the board works quite nicely.

I thought the board might be dead, turns out I got a bad stick of
ram, but even if I pulled the bad stick of ram out and powered up
(with no ram), I got no beep (Award BIOS will beep like crazy if no
ram is installed usually).

Thanks for your replies.

Hi, In BIOS setup under Boot Menu settings you need to set "quick power-on
self test" to Enabled...or no beeps for me.

I looked in the BIOS settings under "boot configuration" and there is
a "quickboot" option, and enabled or disabled, I get no beep(s). Do
you have an Award/Phoenix BIOS? This BIOS is an AMI BIOS.

Ohh sorry! no mine is Award and the A7V8X-X board, I didn't know they

well..this may be a dumb question but does the PC have a speaker in it?
and hooked up right? Looks like your using Comcast cable, but do you have a
analog modem you can test speaker with and hear it? dialing, connecting,
etc.

Not sure that this one beeps. I'll check when I next boot.

tried 2 different speakers, the case speaker and my bench "test"
speaker I use when mobos are hooked up outside the case.
