Has anyone applied the latest Silicon Image driver (10032) to this board? If
so, please relay the results. Driver comes straight from SI web site. Driver
date is July 2003.

Asus's latest version is 10022 from January.

Yes but only just. They look to be OK and they are the only ones from
Silicon Image that have MS WHQL certification.

I had previously been using the earlier available 10033s. Some users have
reported the best results from the even earlier 10029s.

I have been using them now and they work great on my Raptor's in Raid 0. I
was using the .33 version and the cpu utilization was around 40 to 50 %..
Now I am running about 15 to 18% which is a great improvement. Have NO
corruption issues so far and they seem to work fine.

Thanks guys for the quick and helpful response. Is the driver the only thing
that needs to be updated, or do I need the uber bios too? I remember from my
old Abit Highpoint controllers that the bios and driver were *highly*
recommended to be the same.

Raymond, your answer was most helpful, since I have a very similar drive
setup.

Stuart

The relevant Uber BIOS with SATA has a more up to date version of the SATA
chip BIOS (4.2.12 - as per the SI website) than the ASUS BIOSs.
