A7N8X R1.04-unable to flash

I currently have 1001.c and downloaded the 1004 update AN8B1004.bin, so it
would recognise my AMD 2500XP

I have tried the alt + F2, but nothing typed on keyboard appears on screen
(neither is caps lock functioning).

I tried running aflash.exe from a freshly formatted floppy (strange because
when I formatted it in XP , the boot message said Windows Millenium 1999)
but all I got was 'Can't find system BIOS' hook'

Anyone seen this before and could shed some light on it?

I had the same problem. I used the Asus BIOS update tool from within XP
which worked OK.

Some people have mentioned concerns about BIOS flashing from within Windows.

I've flashed the bios on my current a7n8x machine several times as well as
my older asus based machines and I've only ever had one failure at which
point I told it to flash it again and all was well.
