A7N8X problem

Hi,

I just bought an A7N8X with AMD 2200, Hynix 512 mb and a Diamond
radeon 9200 agp8x card. After connecting everything up along with the
hard disk I started the computer. The green LED on the motherboard
comes on and cpu fan starts moving, but the monitor remains blank in
standby mode. So I disconnected everything and tried to boot it up
with only processor, ram and video card (I also removed ide led switch
and reset switch just kept the power switch connected to the
motherboard) but still the same thing. I then removed the ram and
tried it again and nothing happened still. I don't have a pci card
lying around to check if the agp slot is the problem. So has anyone
experienced anything like this before? Any help will be greatly
appreciated.

lay the card on a sheet of cardboard, HDD ram and videocard only, try
booting.
Make sure your video card and ram are well seated. If it bots then you
are shorting the board on the case, or you didnt seat your cards right.

My system is entirely SCSI, booting from an Adaptec SCSI card.
I wanted to add a DVD±RW drive - Serial ATA drive. I don't remember
the source, but years ago I recall that if you introduced an IDE hard
drive into the system it would require you to boot from an IDE device.
I have been searching to verify this information lately because if
this were true would it also cause my system to require booting to an
SATA device if I introduced the DVD±RW drive - Serial ATA drive into
the configuration?
I know you can specify boot order through the BIOS but I was
hoping someone knew if this were true or possibly only applied to
older systems, if it ever applied. I would hate to buy the drive and
find I needed to return it because it is incompatible with my setup.

My Previous system had 3 X SCSI HDD, SCSI CD/RW SCSI DVD and 3 X IDE HDD.
I Booted from a SCSI Drive.

Thanks alot and it did work, the board was getting short by the case.
Now the system is working fine. One more thing while reading the
newsgroup posts when I was having this problem I came across someone
suggesting to reset cmos and I did that (even though the problem
turned out to be something else). Now how to get cmos settings back to
where they were? While booting it shows that the chip is running at
1300 mhz and memory is running at 100mhz. The chip is amd 2200 and
memory is ddr400 pc3200.

Set up the FSB and memory clock (in synch preferably)
