Does anyone know if the AMD Mobile cpu's can function on

A7N8X - DLX with (v)2 pcb

..or..

A7M266-D

I saw where someone mentioned a wire trick and read where another person
sent out a motherboard for repair after trying a mobile chip.

Anyone have any experience with bridging new enameled cpu's? I assume the
mobiles are enameled. My original XP 2100+ were not and the L5 was bridged
easily.

...thanks..

A7N8X-Deluxe v2.0 here running a XP2500+ Mobile Processor with no
problems or mods to anything besides BIOS Settings. Running it at
2205mhz(400*11) with PC3200 memory. Typically runs at 52C on the diode
temp. without expensive cooling.

FWIW and direct from Beijing!!!...

....techie claims it will run at wrong voltage as the bios will not recognize
it...

My son's board is currently in for repair, a capacitor blew. I gave him the
newer "E" deluxe motherboard and when I get the rev 2.0 back I was going to
mess with it and see if it can take a mobile.

I have my own A7M266-D with two 2100+ XP modded cpus. Was thinking of
possibly trying those mobiles out but I just got thru reading at amd
overclockers that there seems to be trouble with that motherboard. My 2100+
are rock stable.

There is *some* truth in what Bejing says. The BIOS does not properly
identify the chip. Motherboard Monitor shows 1.62v applied as Vcore,
whereas AMD recommends 1.45v for my chip. I say, I know what chip I
put in there and a .17v bump in Vcore is not unusual when overclocking
as I'm doing. Will it cause failure to come sooner? Maybe. Got my
eyes on a AMD64 system if it does but it's been rock solid for 6 months
now. Still runs the torture test of Prime95 with no errors. If you've
got those 2100's modded to give you equal to a 3000+ or better, that'll
work too! Hope you find something encouraging for the 266-D.

Ive got 3 identical machines being mobile 2500+ running at 3300+ on
a7n8x-x's. They run perfectly with stock cooling at 1.45v or so. Great
boards/chips.
