After I changed the cpu I can hear that the pc starts, but I get no
screen to adjust the bios settings. I tried a different monitor and
a different graphics-adapter. There is always a black screen. There
are also no beeps at startup. Any ideas? This happens with the old
cpu now too.

Have you tried resetting the cmos using the jumpers on the board? Take out
the battery first, and then reconfigure the jumpers (settings should be in
the manual).

No I haven't. Are your sure I have to reconfigure the jumpers after
I removed the battery? Shouldn't it be ok to adjust the default
settings in the bios configuration?

Didn't you say you couldn't access the bios?

I couldn't access the bios because I don't see anything on the
screen. I don't understand why I have to change jumpers, since the
jumpers were ok before the cpu change. My bios settings are almost
100% default values.

If you changed to a lower speed processor or a processor with a lower FSB
then I think you def need to do what halfalifer said to do, It's not going
to harm your OS to do a reset..
Also, What does the post messages say.. the vocal ones

It looks like there is a general problem with nforce2-chips, when
saving the bios.

For those who speak German, read:

I believe that my board doesn't recognize the cpu too. The review
says that 5 of 6 boards had this problem. It seems that the bios
chip has to be changed.
