After reading other posts about this subject, I find nothing that fits my
situation exactly. So, any suggestions will be appreciated.

For my case, the front earphone connection has three single wire leads: Ear
L, Ear R, and Ear G. The Microphone connection has two single wire leads:
MIC Data and MIC Grd.

So how do I connect to the front panel audio connector pins? By default, my
motherboard has jumpers on Line out_R to BLINE_OUT_R and Line out_L to
BLINE_OUT_L. Do I remove these?

TIA

Also don't forget that to use front/normal speakers you connect them to the
headphone/audio socket on the front of your case.

I believe that the "BLINE_OUT" pins connect to the _back_ _panel_ line
out socket, so that when you connect a standard DIP cable to the
internal connector, the back panel connector is disabled, either all
the time or (if the front panel socket has built-in isolator switches,
appropriately wired) when a plug is inserted in the front panel
socket.

I'm afraid that I can't quite figure out the nomenclature of the Mic
pins, either, but I would try using MicPWr for MIC Data and Mic2 for
MIC Grd

One might think that, but if they are _outputs_, it would make
absolutely no sense for them to be directly connected in parallel with
the front speaker outputs by default, as they would be if you are
correct. I must admit that my explanation reflects the application of
logic rather than tracing the circuitry, but I can't think of another
one that makes sense of the default jumpering.
