I have an A7N8X Dx, rev2, 1006 bios with latest drivers.
I'm a little confused about the onboard audio support. When I play
games like Half-Life, there is an option for "Enable A3D Hardware
support" and another option for "Enable EAX hardware support". I
don't seem to have support for these options. Can I get support
through sofware used in conjunction with the card or am I just missing
something? One of the reasons I got this mobo was because the onboard
sound was supposed to be so good, so I'm surprised I'm having sound
troubles on what is a rather old game.
I've checked google groups for other posts, but haven't found too many
recent ones and none referring to A3D. In some cases, during some
games, I can hear a scratchiness to the sound irregardless of what
sound options are on.
Officially speaking, is A3D and EAX supported by A7N8X's onboard
sound? If there are problems, does anyone know of a patch coming out
or does anyone have a suggestion for a better driver? (The old posts
I found regarding EAX didn't seem to have a resolution).
Thanks
