Hi all,
I have bought this MB; however on ASUS site it is mentioned 6xUSB2.0 since I
found 2xUSB 2.0 and 4x USB1.1...Is it right???

All six ports are USB2.0 as long as USB2&USB1.1 are enabled in the bios and
you either installed the USB2 driver on the motherboard disk or installed
Windows XP SP1.
All 4 onboard ports can be USB 1.1 and/or 2.0
The 2 ports on the plate that connect to the header on the board can be
USB2.0 and/or 1.1

I have this board and all my USB ports(6)are set to USB2(driver from cd
installed).
If I disconnect the 2 on the plate and connect my case mounted ports then
they are USB2.

I have a similar problem. SiSoft Sandra reports 4 being USB 1.1 and 2 being
2.0. I have XP SP1 installed and let XP find the best driver available.
The USB drivers on the ASUS CD didn't make it clear how to install them.
There are no instructions on how to install the QFE fix? Any help
appreciated,

Will

A. install the QFE
1. Both the USB EHCI package and the QFE (described in section 2) must be
installed.
2. Always install the QFE package first. This will prompt for a reboot.
Before you reboot,
please ensure that you have installed the EHCI Package also. Install
the USB 2.0 EHCI package using
Plug and Play INF driver installation procedures.

B. Install the USB 2.0 EHCI package
1. Click Windows [Start].
2. Click [Control Panel].
3. Double Click [System].
4. Click [Hardware] tab.
5. Click [Device Manager].
6. Right Click [Universal Serial Bus(USB) Controller] under [Other
Devices],
then click [Properties].
7. Click [Driver] tab.
8. Click [Update Driver].
9. Choose [Install from a list or specific location].
10. Click [Next].
11. Choose [Include this location in the search].
12. Click [Browse] to specify the file path where the driver is,
e.g. "X:\Drivers\USB2\XP"( X is the drive you put the support CD).
13. Click [Next].
14. Click [Finish].
I just installed those as directed and did not install SP1

I never take notice of programs like Sandra.
AIDA32 is better as it lists everything you have including software.
