My case has an extra HDD light and I'd like to see when the SATA controller is accessing my discs. Is there a spot on the board to hook a light up to for the SATA? Nothing in the manual about it.

Hook the wire to the spot on the mobo for the IDE Light. It works for
both SATA and PATA, or should.

If the IDE led lights when there is activity on the ide bus then why should
it light if activity is on serial ATA and not on IDE?

controller is accessing my discs. Is there a spot on the board to hook a
light up to for the SATA? Nothing in the manual about it.

Both controllers emit drive activity signals, so when a drive on either
one is connected will light the LED. If both controllers have drives
attached the activity of any drive will light the LED.
