Hi,

I have a Asus A7N8X-DLX mb, with a XP+2500 (333) cpu and a 512 MB Samsung
DDR Ram (400).

What is the best setting to run this configuration at ?

Thanks,
jorgen, Denmark

I would run it at 200 fsb and the ram in sync (Try it) and watch the
teamps..
the 2500+'s oc straight up to 3200+ speeds and the temp rise is usually
verry verry small (if you have a good hsf)

I my A7N8X-Deluxe rev 2.0, Barton 2500,768 OCZ PC3200EL (3x256)...I run
200x11 no probs...if you happen to have an older 2500 you could run it at
200x9.5=1900 MHZ. I have one locked 1 unlocked Barton 2500..both rigs will
run at 200x11

It's a Barton.in.a.box - not sure how good the HSF is.. Though in average it
runs at 42 degrees, no matter the "pressure" being applied to it.. 8-).

Still sound pretty drastic running it at 200 mhz * 2 * 8 !(=3200) ?

200 * 11
It's not that drastic.. I tried to run mine up much higher and it didnt work
well but no harm came of it. But when I had the previous heatsink on it was
really crap for the 2500+ (much less 3200+ heat) so when I finally got MBM5
I realised that I was running the cpu @ it's core max temp and it didnt do
any harm.. So I cant see you running @ 42c now and it going up verry much
higher..
Just make sure your using something like MBM5 where you can read the cpu
Diode as pcprobe isnt good enough

Probably the RAM being pushed too far....200FSB needs DDR400 to be 100%
stable

Can we use the pc 3500 memory stick in that a7n8x-xxx
that way i would be alble to run it at 212fsb--->(424mgz)x11.5=2.44ghz

fwiw, I can run my A7N8X @ 211 bus with Corsair pc3200, PC3500 shouldn't
be a problem as long as the chipset/mobo can handle the 212 FSB setting.

My system is A7N8X deluxe
Barton 2500
Crusial two sticks of 3200 256 meg

I just put in some new crucial 3200 ram I had to go into the bios because
for some reason it was running at 100mhz, not knowing or not remembering
(it's late) I boosted it to 200 couldn't remember if it was to be 166 or 200
it's now running at 3200+ and I only had an encrease of 8 deg Is this a
good idea to leave it at this?
Should I just go back to 166? Do you folks know of some Games that would
demand that much power? isn't 2500 fast enough to handle anything out there?
Any imput would be appriciated Well not any LOL any positive imput would
be.

It's okay as it is..
Yes games can use the power..
Who knows, the tradeoff of more cycles per second with less overall cpu
usage "real time" might make the speed boost never an issue for the life of
the chip..
Electronics are rated to last about 3 years tho you'll find that they'll
probably go more along the line of 20 years
