I have grown spoiled running two monitors with Windows XP Pro SP1. I
have an AGP video card with dual heads and it works just peachy. My
main monitor is a 19" CRT and my secondary monitor is a 17" LCD to the
right. The desktop smoothly extends between the two. I was wondering
if this set-up would also work with two separate video cards, each
with a single VGA output. Can windows manage two independent video
cards and combine them into a seamless desktop? Obviously, one is PCI
and the other is AGP.

If both are Nvidia or both are ATI. But not one of each. ATI don't
play nice with others.
 
I do have a Matrox G400 AGP Dualhead and an ATI Radeon 9200 PCI dual head
running in one of my machines. Works perfectly fine. 4 outputs!

Yes and yes.

Beware however - there are certain cards, and certain combinations of other
cards, which won't work. You'll have to do a bit of experimenting.

Your Dual Head card is, for all intents and purposes, two seperate cards at
that level of abstraction.

It should be fine, but some people complain of driver conflicts whilst
others have no problems.

Arnie, I believe you can, just remember to set the primary agp in your bios
setup.
