Hi there
Anybody had a problem getting a 3200+ Barton to work with a Rev2 A7N8X Dlx,
bought the CPU off ebuyer last week, stuck it in, changed FSB to 200, fired
it up, POST reported 'CPU change', set BIOS to correct frequency, got to the
HDD boot sequence then nothing, a couple of times I got 'NTLDR Missing',
thought I might be low on power (550w) so disconnected all my IDE's to let
the SATA have a go, still nothing, did a bit more changing things (by this
time I'd lost track of what exactly I'd done), but it fired up with 1st IDE
& SATA, left it running overnight, stopped it, then restarted, POST reported
a CPU of 2500+.
I'd had enough so put my 2700+ back in and away it went, and is still going
strong through numerous restarts.
Specs:
PSU Q-Tech 550w
1 x SATA HDD
3 x IDE HDD's
1 x IDE DVD-Rom
1 x DVD-RW
Sapphire 9800 Pro 256Mb
OS: XP Corp SP1 + SP2 Beta
