Hi!

I've noticed something annoying while setting up my new A7N8X-Dlx v2.0. I
connected a headset to Line out and had it on while I installed win. All the
time I could hear the ide traffic over the headset. Is this normal?? It
sounded a bit like a high pitched whining noice with morse code over it that
was in perfect sync with the flashing of the ide led
Is this something that can be removed or something I have to live with with
a soundcard on the motherboard?

Best Wishes
Thomas

On amdforums.com they have complained about the sound chip and some
have fixed the problem by downloading the MSI unified drivers and
installing the audio driver (or the whole thing, can't figure it out).
An MSI audio driver on an Asus board got rid of some distorted sound
and abnormalities. I have a soundblaster live gamers card and my
initial comparison is I pefered that, so I haven't used the on board
sound much. Go to that forum and the Asus Motherboard group to find
out more. Good luck.

My first Asus board and had a flawless install. Barton 2500 @ 12x
166mhz (registers at 2700+) with PC2100 crucial (and stable).
