I've got a asus a7n8x deluxe 1.04 (with 1007 bios) and I have the
following issue. When I plug in my USB IDE drive, it stops working, I
get an error message, and the drive disappears with any significant
activity to the drive. Do others have the same issue? Has anybody
figured out a way to fix this?

Thanks!

Are you using Win2K SP4 or WinXP SP1? Do you have the latest nForce drivers
installed?

I'm running WinXP SP1 and the latest and greatest nForce drivers
(3.13). I did some research and found that others were also having
problems with their nForce2 motherboards and USB 2.0. Bought a $7
(Ali chip) USB 2.0 controller and now all works good. Funny thing is
that I bought the A7N8X Dlx because it had all these nice on-board
features (and I paid a little bit more) and now I'm needing to buy a
card to handle something the motherboard should be providing...
