HI, IVE GOT THE ABOVE MOTHERBOARD AND I HAVE A 2500XP BARTON CPU INSTALLED.
HAS ANYONE GOT THE SAME AND DO THEY HAVE THE CPU OVERCLOCKED TO A 3200XP? IF
SO COULD YOU TELL ME THE EXACT SETTINGS YOU HAVE. THANKS

I'm stupid not deaf.
I'm running 2500+ @ 3200+ on two A7N8X DLX boards.

Advanced Chipset Features-
System Performance-
User Define-
Memory Frequency-
100%.

That Locks the CPU FSB in sync with the RAM. Even if you run stable
without them locked, performance can be awful with them out of sync.
My system would not run right until I made that change and chose 197
FSB.
I also lock the AGP to 66Mhz. "Auto" can send it sky high on this
board. If those don't help keep in mind the board is RAM picky. Only 9
are approved by ASUS:

Typing in all caps when you are in newsgroups means you are shouting.
You will get responses like "I'm not deaf" or "quit shouting" etc.
My 2500XP Barton is overclocked only by using the multiplier. I did find
a program (saw it on TechTV) from CPUID which helps you do this.

Make sure you get the correct file for your board.

What I meant was the program helps you overclock by adjusting the FSB.

yep, i got it. can go MORE than the 3200+ level tho.

when did you buy the 2500+? from week 37(iirc) onwards there multipliers'
are now locked, and so far, unable to be unlocked. if not, change the
multiplier to x12.5 i beleive, and when you restart, it should be detected
as a 3200+.

if your multiplier is locked, then up the FSB to 200. if you have slow ram
(pc2100/2700) then you`ll prolly need to drop the cpu/ram ratio, so your ram
is within spec.

FSB increase is the prefered overclocking way eitherway, as this will
increase the rest of your system, not JUST cpu speed.

and just so you know, theres 2 types of 3200+'s
a 166fsb and a 200fsb version.

I've got a Rev2 A7N8X also with a Barton 2500+ = AQZFA stepping, week 37. I
also have OCZ PC3500EL ram, at present I am running 225Mhz FSB (Sync'ed with
RAM) with a multi of 11 - 2.475Ghz\ - quite a nice 30% overclock - running
quality components throughout system - cooling etc.
