If, as in WinXP, you are requested to press F6
at the beginning of the installation process,
you have insert an OEM diskette* in your
floppy drive.

* the diskette contains OEMSetup.inf
and necessay driver(s). It most probably can
be found in *.img file on your A37N8X
CD.

I have a new A7N8X Deluxe With two 120gig SATA drives and 5 ide
drives. I would like to install Window$ 2000 Pro on one SATA and use
the Other SATA for Video Editing. The other Ide's would be storage.

What is the method to get Win2k installed this way.
Win2k doesn't see SATA drives during installation.

SATA drivers on the Asus site are too big to fit on floppy for a F6
action during install.

I believe you can put the drivers on a CD, as it will as you for a location
for the drivers.

They arent too big for a disk, he's looking at the WHOLE archive, including
PDF, manuals etc.

The 'DRIVERS' for SATA *do* fit on a floppy.

And you can also slipstream them into your install CD if you want.

Also, can SATA drives be used seperately in a non Raid setup like IDE
drives can(I hope so).

Depends on your board, youll have to read your manual for specifics, I know
my P4C800-E can, as I currently
boot from a 120G SATA which was the only HD in the system for a while, now I
have a 120G PATA drive on for
storage, all in non-raid setups.

Primary IDE (PATA)
Master: CRW5224A CD/RW
Slave: LG GSA-4040B DVD/RW
Secondary IDE (PATA)
Master: Maxtor 6Y1200L0 -120G
Third IDE (SATA)
Seagate ST3120026AS - 120G

After F6, Window$ ask's you to put a disc in the floppy drive A only
when looking for SCSI or Third Party Drivers.

I have the SATA drivers on CD-Rom and on the Hard drive ready to go but
Windows won't let you navigate to them that I can see.

As he said, the SATA drivers can and do indeed fit on a floppy. You
don't need to point the Win2K installation at a cd-rom or a hdd for
the drivers, and you can't do that anyways :)

drives can(I hope so).

Yes.
