A7N8X Deluxe v2.0 & -E 2x512 MB memory problem (one more time)
A7N8X Deluxe v2.0
DDR PC32000 CL2.5 (11 3 3 2.5) @ FSB 200 @ 2.6V
2X256 MB TwinMos with M-Tec chip CL2.5: works fine all the time
but 2X512 MB...
TwinMos with M-Tec chip CL2.5: one month OK, then errors
The same, but other batch (different pn and sn): one week OK, then errors
TwinMos with TwinMos chip Dual Kit CL2.5: one month OK, then errors
Samsung with Samsung chip CL3 @ CL2.5 FSB200: four months OK, then errors
Then I decided to buy a new motherboard, and new memory modules:
A7N8X-E Deluxe
&
TwinMos Dual Kit 2X512 PC3200 CL2.5 @ FSB 200
Everitihing was fine one month, then errors occured again
After that I returned the modules to the shop where I bought them, took
money,
went to another shop and bought:
A-Data DDR 500 dual kit [email protected] FSB 200: since now - 40 days (touch wood)
OK
http://www.adata.com.tw/en/p-d1-03.htm
On problematic modules, errors occured even in single channel with one
stick in motherboard, and FSB 166, and @ 2.8V.
The worst thing is, that all invalid modules with errors in my mobo,
were absolutelly OK in computers of two friends of mine (Epox 8RDA3+,
Abit NF7-S v2.0), and in service of the shop where I bought the modules
(tested on some Asus P4 based board)!!!
The rest of my configuration:
Tagan 380W (vetically mounted - old midi tower) 1-3% Voltage deviations.
Barton M 2500+ @ 11X200 @ 1.45V ( thx to little program "8rdavcore"
http://www.hasw.net/8rdavcore/
which automatically changes Vcore&FSB in Windows depending on CPU usage)
Zalman 7000B Cu (AS5 grease)
ATI R9700 @ 200/200
Samsung SP-120N
Pioneer 108
2X internal ViPower HDD rack (max 2X120 GB)
1X external HDD rack USB
13 fans:
12 cm enermax 12 fab intake
2X8 cm enermax 8 fab outtake
2X5 cm no name outtake
2X5 cm no name system HDD cooler
3X4 cm no name in internal HDD rack (occasionally)
3X4 cm no name in internal HDD rack (occasionally)
2X little electronic circuit for fan speed regulation (one for graphic
card, and the other for the system HDD cooler & case fans)
P.S.
Don't even think that I have a noisy machine because of 17 fans! ;-)
All fans are slowed down with regulator or resistor, until they become
noiseless.
10 feet away you can't hear the comp (my friends are witnesses).
That machine is next to my bed, and I sleep 24/7 with the computer on.
Temps in silent mode:
Room 22°C / case 22°C / CPU 42-53°C - socket
On A7N8X Deluxe v2.0, CPU idle temp with S2KCtl was 32°C on die. )
On -E version of the mobo, S2KCtl downgrades idle temp for 3-4°C.
