Hi all. I'm thinking about getting a new SATA HD for my system.
I'm wondering if the SATA corruption problem that this mobo had are finally
been solved by new BIOSes.

I'm running 1006 Bios and just downloaded SATA drivers From Asus Website
(version 10022).

Furthermore, i COULD run only one SATA HD, right? Don't really need a RAID
to make it work?

TIA

Best regards

I'm using the very same mobo flawless with one maxtor raptor (36 G). It's my
system disc.
Further on 2 HDD on IDE en CD writer and CD ROM.
All this flawless. Using the latest BIOS and SATA drivers.

Don't forget in the bootmenu 'first bootdevice = SCSI'.

It doesn't work with a Promise Ultra 133 PCI card.

Oh, thanks for the reply. On another forum a guy said he had still problems
with 1007 bios and he needed to switch to Uber 1005 in order to use SATA.

Maybe he was unlucky ;)

What aboutSATA drivers? The ones on Asus Website had revision date
11/14/2003 :-\

I am running 2 160GB 7K250 SATA Drives in RAID 0 with the A7N8X Rev 2 Bios
1007 without any data corruptions issues - using the last SIL drivers from
the web rather than the ones that ship with the mobo however...
