Hello guys,

I got a really annoying problem with the line in of the onboard
soundcard: it simply doesn't work anymore.

It worked fine, but for some reason it just quit it's job. I had this
problem once before, then I solved it by using WXP's system recovery.
But today it occurred again.

I did only install meaningless software since the last date I know it
worked.

I have switched both "recording" and "digitized input" to "line in", no
effect. And no, I don't got it mute ;-)

Any solution for this? Thx a lot.

Since it broke down without me changing anything in bios, I don't think
so. Thx anyway.

Have you tried the 'nswap' utility from nVidia? This can
re-assign the line-in and mic inputs as outputs (for analogue
5.1 speakers) entirely in software, so I'd guess that some
errant software could have accidentally changed whatever
nswap changes..

Had the same problem with a A7V8X-X. My solution was to buy a
soundcard. I'm glad I did too because the output is 100% better and
the system is more stable. That Soundmax onboard sound blows. I got a
Creative 5.1 for $40.00 and it was well worth it.
