I like this new idea... posting successes.

Only problem is that I feel I should reply in order to help. You sure it's
all ok? :-P

The truth is out there. You just have to look in the right places and ask
the right questions.

Yes and I also got a used one for $59 at newegg and it's every bit as
good as my new one.

If only ASUS would release an undated BIOS to take advantage of the nVidia
system utility....

Yes indeed, wonderful features but I wish the MIDI worked on onboard sound.
Bit embarrasing when you fit one of these and tell people how great they are
but MIDI doesn't work!

I got this board too recently and think its fab, though a couple of
minor complaints. One, is I wish they would say that the Asus iPanel
don't work with this board.. it would have saved me buying the iPanel.
And the connection for the sound ports to the front, don't match the
connections to my box. So my front sound ports have been left
un-connected.

But otherwise.. I love it :)!!

I wish I could say the same thing. I know there are many out there
that are having great success with this mainboard. But I have had so
many quirky things running 98SE-- including sound problems , ide
problems etc.

By all means I am not condemning this mainboard, in fact I wish I
could have continued using it but I replaced it with a KT6 mainboard
today.

At times I thought I had it running very smooth and then something
else would come up. Maybe if I would install XP it would be better but
from what I have read it would be to much of a hassle when I would
reformat. And also my wife and I have 3 computers including work and
pleasure pc's.

I have built several systems for my Grandkids and believe me I'm no
expert and dont claim to be. Im just an old fart that has enjoyed
computers and maybe Im just not experienced enough to get all the
settings correct.

These newsgroups are a wonderful tool and I have spent hours reading
all the knowledge included in them and have learned a lot. Thanks to
all that are willing to help !

Best Regards,
Rick

I agree... great board...altho..I think it would even be a hotter seller...
If they added some color to it ;-) UV slots and stuff...hahaha. Ok, I
am getting real picky.
