On the bios cpu external freq setting, (advanced chip features)does this
setting change automatically depending on the different speed cpu's one
would install? I am looking for a new board and do not want to overclock,
but do have different speed chips that I want to install at times.
You may have to set CPU External Freq.(Front side bus, or FSB) manually
in the BIOS, mine booted at 100MHz out of the box and also boots at
100MHz bus after a CMOS clear.
The CPU Vcore and Frequency Multiple will be auto set when not in user
defined modes, which is default.
If you are not sure if the CPU is for a 266 or 333 bus etc, you can look
up the OPN here,
http://www.amdboard.com/amdid.html
(OPN=first line of numbers on CPU, sticker or etched into cpu die)
Just remember the bus speed in the BIOS = 2x it's value (200 = 400).
