Hi:
I've got an A7N8X deluxe, version 2. Running win98se.
I've recently gotten into games, and now have about 15 of them.
Most, but not all of the games have bad static in them, some
worse than others. A few don't have any. Some of the worst are
Simpsons, Deer Hunter, LOMAC and Frogger Beyond.
The static is NOT in music when I play it (mp3, wav or
midi.)...just in games.
I have the nvidea 2.41 drivers, directX 9.0b and use an ATI
radeon video card. (AIW 9700) (Catalyst 4.3)
My sister has virtually the same setup on her computer as I do on
mine. (I built both) except that her ati card is a 9000. (Catalyst
3.8 or 3.9)
She has many of the same games, and is experiencing the same
sound problems.
Could anyone suggest where I might start looking to find the
cause?
What are the latest sound drivers for the A7N8X? The nvidea
site has 2.41, and Asus has 1.16 (I think.)
Any suggestions or help would be ___very much___ appreciarted.
PS: Deleting/reinstalling the drivers, directX and the games seems
to make no difference.
How does one get a handle on sound problems?
Finally, is there another, maybe better newsgroup where I could
ask these questions and get help?
Thanks again.
