Help,
I had this board working fine running red hat 8.0 for months. I was
switching rooms and my wonderful 512 DDR stick of crucial memory somehow did
not make it. I got the cheap stuff which was working and I started a clean
win98 install (which I need for teaching purposes) in preparation for a dual
boot. The install ran overnight and when I came in the next morning the
system was frozen on the boot screen. I reset it and have been getting the 4
beeps ever since. I checked the memory and it works fine in other systems
and I just got another stick of crucial just in case but no luck, nothing
but the 4 beeps.
I have an electrical engineering background, but I am not familiar enough
with motherboards to know which are the most likely components or what
possible other steps I could take to isolate the problem. Any thoughts or
ideas would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Tyrone Thompson
