Now that I have a new A7N8X machine, I'm about to reformat the HD on the
"old" A7A266 machine for my house mate. I have all the original ASUS
installation disks and a new XP pro OS installation disk.
1. I have never upgraded the bios because I'm afraid something will go
wrong. It is still the original 1004. Will 1004 be compatible with
WinXP? If not, what is the "youngest" bios that will support WinXP? I
see the USA Asus site offers 1009, 1010, 1011, and 1012. I haven't
checked the German site yet, 'cuz I don't read German.
2. Other than the bios question, will I have any problems installing and
running the ASUS drivers if I format using NTFS, or should I stick to
fat32?
Thanks in advance.
