Does anyone know if any of these three printers HP 1280, HP 9800 and HP
OfficeJet PRO K850 which are basically A3+ printers can pull and print on A2
paper and how big is a margin on left side if it can't print on whole A2.

Please help because non of the sellers wants to test the printer to check
this out.

Thanks

Hi.

Unless there is something very different about these printers, the problem
would be getting A2 Paper into them, without folding it down to 13 inches
wide.

So far as I know all printers are just wide enough to handle the smallest
dimension of the paper they are designed for, I know of no exceptions to this.
That means an A3+ printer cannot accept A2 paper since A2 (portrait) is wider
than A3+ (portrait).

This is where paper sizes get confusing for me. You have A3, and you
have Super B, and these printers near as i'm aware do SuperB. I don't
know if a3+ is an offical size or if it refers to printers that print
beyond A3 but not quite A2.

But needless to say I fully agree with Tony... While sometimes it's
possible the printer is just wide enough to accept slightly wider paper
as with the case of some old epsons (perhaps the pladens were leftover
from the fanfold age). You have 11 inch wide paper (297mm) and you
have 16.5 inch wide paper (420mm). Something geared for super b which
is somewhere between 13 and 14 inches. Needless to say A2 is at least
an inch wider on either side than these printers can officaly do. Epson
I believe offers some a3+ which I believe are close to 14inches in
width, but there isn't enough printer to accept 16.5 inch wide paper.

A3+ is an official size and is 329mm or 13" wide, A2 is 420mm or 16.5" wide.
So unfortunately it is certain that an A3+ printer will not accept A2 paper (if
it does it should probably be classfified as A2).

No, these printers can handle paper up to 13" or ~330mm in width. A2
media is 420mm wide, it will not fit in these printers. You might look
at the Designjet 130 which prints up to 625mm wide. See

for details of the Designjet 130.

Thanks for the tip tony, I always classed that size as Super B in my
head, getting confused at A3+ as there were a few printers that printed
slightly larger than 13 inches classed as a3+.
