The Knowledge Base Article 287603 indicates that changes
in the VBE effective with A2000 might slow down saving
object such as standard and class modules (including form
and report modules).

I have not noticed slower saving between A97 vs A2000.
However, now that I am using A2002, I do notice that
saving these objects is much slower than A2000. Re-e-e-e-
eally slow.

The KB article does not suggest any actions to overcome
this slowing down.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Actually A2002 is supposed to be faster at saving than A2000. Are
comparing files of near equal size?

In A97 you were only saving the individual objects that were changed.
Starting with A2000 you are always saving the entire project. That is why
it takes longer and there is nothing you can do about it.

Your comment agrees with the KB article.

However, my experience is that saving is slower in A2002
than in A2000 for a file of comparable size.

Are there any tips or tricks that would help?

I've found that turning off Track Name Autocorrect in Tools: Options seems to
help in some cases.
