I am looking for a way to Prioritize task a-1, a-2, b-1, b-2, b-3, c-1, etc.
rather than low, normal and high?

Sure can. Make a new Field in the Tasks Folder and use it to sort by A1 to
Z9 if you want.

Turn on the Advanced Toolbar. Use the Field Chooser to make a New Field.
Then add the Field to the View of the Tasks Folder. You can add the Field by
dragging it up to the column header row (just after you make it - it will be
on the Field Chooser).
