A warning to people about to buy ECS 865G-M8 Motherboard

I purchased a ECS (Elite group) 865G-M8 motherboard on the 3/10/06. It is the
worst board I have ever come across. The installation of the board went well
but after that it went down hill. First I found that the drivers supplied on
the cd don’t work with the hardware on the board and this causes Windows to
crash often. I decided that I would get a professional to look at it and he
found no problems and he was just about to leave when the computer restarted
itself. We thought that it was the drivers again but we where wrong when the
computer kept on failing POST and resetting. We have cleared the CMOS and
checked all the connections and the board still won’t work. I am returning
the board today. I have also contacted ECS and waiting for a reply. My board
lasted less than 24h. V. Unimpressed
 
Sounds like a warranty issue, please save your condemnation until AFTER
the manufacturer has a chance to correct the issue.
 
I have since got a part exchange on the motherboard for another 865G-M8
motherboard and this one works great with the same hardware and everything.
The old board could have been faulty or damaged but this new board works
great.
The drivers for the USB where a bit difficult to install but I got them on
in the end.
Overall I am very happy with the new board.
