A have been using Window Movie Maker 2 on and off for about 1 year with
minimal problems. But today when I try to get it to capture new video from
Samsung Digital camcorder (the same camera I have been using all along) I get
this error message. I also tried the same camera on a different PC with a
different firewire cable and got the same message. Any suggestions?

Hello,

Well, it sounds as though the camera may be defunct!!! I assume you set it
to VCR mode etc and that the second computer was properly set-up. It is
possible that the firewire socket on the camera has simply worn
out......this is something I am always watching...I try to put the camera
and cable connected in a straight line so that there is no sideways
force.....to get these things repaired is so expensive its almost better to
go buy a new camera...recently had that experience myself with a Digital
Still camera

It may be an idea to ask a friend or whatever to bring their camera around
and try it on your system...the problem is if it does not work either you
are no further forward
