is there a freeware utility or perhaps a way to use "Send To" to MOVE
files (not copy) to certain directories?

I've got "send to toys" (both microsofts and a 3rd party version) but
hate having to navigate to each directory each time.

i'm using xp home (with sp2)

You can add Copy To/Move To right click menu

Move OR copy--and more

"" SendTo implements a new option on the Windows right-click context menu,
under the "Send To" option. The new option, "Any Folder," allows you to send
files which you select in Windows explorer to any location on your hard
drive, by either moving or making copies of them. You can also send files
and folders to FTP servers and applications on your computer. ""

. . oh, and can also make zipfiles in process of sending to folders, or
send to ftp server on your computer . .

I've been using this one for a long time now--it goes on all my windoze
boxen. Easy and never a glitch I've seen.

It's for Windows 95, 98, ME, NT4, 2000 or XP.

I believe that Context Magic does this (and a whole lot more!)

Been using this for a while now with no problems.
I think it's what you're after

But then you'd still have to navigate to the folder, wouldn't you?
That's what Woodzy was trying to avoid. I think Michael's solution is
just what Woodzy was looking for. In fact, it looks like such a good
idea that I downloaded it too. 80)>

You don't need anything (in Win98 at least). Just make a shortcut to
the folder(s) you want stuff to go to and put it(them) in
C:\WINDOWS\SendTo

Have a look at Tracker3, which is much better than Windows Explorer. It has
right click option to Move To, Copy To or Backup To any directory. You just
have to browse to the required directory the first time -- after that the
directories are listed. Alternatively, you can right-click and drag to the
left panel (which can be fully expanded in one click!) with a choice of
Moving, Copying or BackingUp to a folder or a new sub-folder, with several
other options.

You are welcome - but thanks should go to Michael
for suggesting this program in the earlier thread.

I use it all the time.
