a tool for diffing two excel spreadsheets

Does anyone know of a command line tool for differencing
two excel spreadsheets and producing a list of differences ?

That tool is for running inside of excel. I would like to find
a command line tool for running in a batch file to compare 1,000
excel spreadsheets with older versions of those same spreadsheets.
