I have a problem installing some software on my windows 2000 workstations. I
am attempting the install the software while logged on with the administrator
account.

The exact error message is: ' A System Administrator has set policies to
prevent this installation'.

I have spoken with our network engineer to comfirm what policies are running
via GPO. He says that there are no policies to cause this problem.

If anyone has seen this before, please let me know.

Thanks!

Did your sys admin state there are no Local policies, no site policies, no
domain policies no OU Policies.

Most admins adhere the GPO through the site, domain or OU, I would check
your local Group policies.

You didn't specify whether this is a local or domain "administrator"
account, but make sure the account you are using is in the
workstation's local administrators group. Also, you'll usually get
this message if you are trying to install a MSI based product over
itself. Check "Add/Remove Programs" and make sure it isn't already
installed.
