A small beep

Anyone out there that can help me with this problem?

I am running XP on a HP Pavilion 7920 and now and again, may 3 or 4
times in a day, the machine lets out a small beep. The speakers are
turned off so the beep is coming from inside the computer. I have
looked on HP's site but can find no reference to it.

It may be a warning of some sort but as yet I have'nt been able to
trace it.

TIA

Do U have Webroot Spy stopper or some Cookie crusher or Pop-up stopper installed (should
show in Bottom right tray). Some of these crunch a cookie or delete a "baddie" and give U
an internal speaker beep to let U know it did its thing

Thanks for the info.

In fact I do have Panic Ware Pop Up Stopper running I'll
stop it and see if that does the trick !

Also in addition to what Frenchy told you, some motherboards will sound the
speaker on overheat and voltage problems.
