A Simple Question To Which I Can Find No Answer

Hello All. I have just recently purchased a new computer, a home-built
Frankenstein (well, the dudes at the store assembled it for me). All I
want to know is one thing: Can I take my old slave drive from my old
puter and just stick it in the new one without a lot of bells and
whistles?

The slave is 200G WD IDE 7200RPM just purchased last year. My new
system has Athlon 64 3500 CPU, 1G DDR 400 RAM and takes IDE. I have
already partitioned the master drive (160G) and installed the OS and
all programs. The slave drive is nothing more than storage.

I know it's a very simplistic question, but I haven't really found a
simplistic answer. Can anyone give me one?

Thanks!

Ivy

Very likely.

Some current systems are a bit short on IDE ports, just one port, which
means two drives, and one is usually already used by the optical drive.
I have already partitioned the master drive (160G) and installed the
OS and all programs. The slave drive is nothing more than storage.

Yes, it should work fine. You may choose to take the
system and that drive to the operation that assembled
the new system and get them to add it for you.

The answer is yes to both questions.
