Can anybody help?

As administrator with full privalages, (on my home
networek)I have denied acess to all users of a 15GB file
of MP3 on a remote, dedicated multi media machine by
mistake. I simply failed to understand that this action
would lock me out as administrator as well as everyone
else. Stupid I know!

I thought that direct access onto the remote machine might
have let me take ownership of the file and let me alter
the permission. No such luck. The problem is, that as soon
as the file is found, from anywhere on my home network,
the PROPERTIES TAG will only reveal the GENERAL TAB and
not the SECURITY TAB that would allow me to change
permissions etc.

Anybody got any ideas?

Use Windows Explorer to modify the security settings
of the folder that contains your file. Do it as a two-step
procedure: First you seize ownership of the folder
(making sure that the change is propagated to all child
folders), then you give all users full access (again
propagating the change to all subfolders). By the way:
you would get many more replies with a meaningful
subject line!

Log on locally and take ownership and then change the
permissions if you want to elminate anyone else from
accessing it make yourself a member of the eadmins and
only allow you and the system full control
