a search text box

hello,
i want to bring up a simple for that has one text box that says "enter
customer last name". when i enter the name and hit enter i want my customers
form to open to that customers record. I can't seem to figure this out. I'm
new to access but i can't find instruction on how to do this anywhere.
any help will be greatly appreciated

The simplest way to do this is within the Query that your Form is based on,
enter a parameter criteria for the Customer Last Name field. How you do this
is...

Open the Query that your Form is based on in Design View
In the Criteria Box for Customer Last Name enter the following:
"[Please Enter Customer's Last Name]"
*Leave out the "" but include the brackets
Save your Query. That's it. Now when you open your form a pop up will
display that message and you'll be required to enter your customer's last
name, and all records matching that last name will be found. Hope that
