Obviously on a laptop, it's nice to have the power scheme
power down when running on batteries, equally important is
to leave outlook runninng to collect mail as it arrives.

I have been into the options and under mail format, have
turned the Use Microsoft Word 2003 options off. The
computer will now suspend and hibernate correctly, so the
problem is basically solved... but I'd quite like to use
word 2003 as my editor.

Is it possible to have all three things?

Outlook running permanently
Computer able to suspend or hibernate
Microsoft Word 2003 as email editor?

Thanks for your help.

Solution....

We had the same problem in our company.

Our solution was simple to redirect the autosave-location within the options of Word, to a local drive. After this alteration, Hibernation/Stand-Bye works really fine.

Hope it's still helpfull
