A reminder for a past appointment kept poping up so I deleted the appointment
from the calander (screen). The reminder still poped up so I selected open
appointment and deleted. The reminder still pops up and now I can do nothing
about it. I tried restarting my computer and the reminder still pops up.

Try starting Outlook one time with the /cleanreminders command.

start->run->outlook.exe /cleanreminders

After furious head scratching, fritzd asked:

I have a similar issue with an appointment whichI deleted from my calendar
before clicking the 'dismiss' option, thatcontinues to pop up with a reminder
every time I open Outlook or dock/undock my computer. Although I completed
the clean reminders step described below, the reminders continue. Is there
any other method for getting rid of the continual pop ups?

I tried running start->run->outlook.exe /cleanreminders, but on opening
outlook, the reminder appeared again. When I try to open the reminder, I get
the message "cannot open the reminder. The end date you entered occurs before
the start date."
When I try to dismiss the reminder, I get the message "Could not delete, one
or more parameters is not valid."

I have a reminder that won't delete. The appointment itself has been deleted
but it failed to delete the associated reminder. I have tried the associated
switches

c:[location]\outlook.exe /cleanreminders
c:[location]\outlook.exe /resetfolders

neither of which resolved the issue.

Thanks, Ben for the suggestion and quick response. I was hoping for a
solution that wasn't $250 for a renegade reminder. Got any other ideas?

OK. I'm totally frustrated. I've tried run > outlook.exe /cleanreminders, but
I still have the same problem that others are describing here. How do I stop
old dismissed reminders from appending to an ever growing list of old
calendar entries. Although I keep dismissing all entries in the reminder
window, every time I start Outllook or have a new scheduled meeting, the list
of reminders reappears the this ever grow list of appointments that just
don't go away. How do I stop this?

PST or Exchnage mailbox? if the former, you could always start with a new
PST, make it your delivery location, then copy the data from the old PST to
the new. This should get rid of anything old.
