I have a very simple, basic question. Where do i go in XP tomake a
recovery disk. I'm just starting out with this system, and I'm fairly
confused.

Any assistance appreciated.

TIA

Hi,

The recovery disk (floppy) that you might be familiar with from a
Win95/98/ME system is not used in a WinXP system. This is because it is
basically a DOS boot diskette, and it cannot read the NTFS file system
normally used in WinXP. Instead, WinXP uses a Recovery Console that is
accessed by booting the WinXP CD or a 6 floppy boot disk set (and this
latter selection has limited functionality).

HOW TO: Install and Use the Recovery Console in Windows XP [Q307654]
