I have some A records under my domain name in DNS with name= (same as parent
folder)
What are these records for? Some are my DC's and some are not.

Thanks
John

Those are called blank domain name A records. So you can do things like
find all "mydomain.com" A records. Think used by group policies and maybe
other services. In a non-AD world, you would normally setup a blank domain
record and a www record for your website.

I have some entries that are not DCs, WEB, or DNS servers.. they are
workstations or member servers is this valid or should I remove them?

You have a "mydomain.com" A record that points to a workstation and you did
not add it?

These are for your domain DFS Shares, DCs register these records for the
SYSVOL DFS Share at \\dnsdomainname\sysvol If you open this share in your
browser, then choose its properties, select the Dfs Tab it should list all
the DCs and show the active DC.
