A recordable CD drive was not detected

When I try to burn to a CD I get this message. My OS Win xpSp2, I have Nero
6 installed, which may be causing my problem but I don't know how to get
around it. All help greatly appreaciated.

go to the drive in your Windows Explorer, right-click on it and select
Properties > go to the recording tab and see if the CD recording option is
checked... if not, check it and try again... no need to reboot anything.
