A potentially dangerous Request.Form value was detected from the client

Hi

I want to store the text from a TextBox that contains <br> , *, $
etc.to sql server. But it shows me an error message "A potentially
dangerous Request.Form value was detected from the client
(ctl00$ContentPlaceHolder1$Comments="...rts from: <br>14:15 Bus Stop
1..."). "

If the text does not contain these special characters it gets inserted
with out any problem.

Please suggest me how to solve this.

1) Launch your internet browser (e.g. IE, FireFox, Netscape, Opera etc)

2) Navigate to the following site: http://www.google.com

3) Enter the text below in the box:

"A potentially dangerous Request.Form value was detected from the
client"

4) Hit the button


There are literally hundreds of pages on the web where this is discussed,
with suggestions on how to avoid it...
