My computer was recently hacked and I had it reformatted. But,
recently I have notice numerous process running that are easting up
system resources and I am denied access when I attempt to stop them. I
am currently running windows vista. The programs that concern me are
svchost.exe and internet explorer. There is an instance of internet
explorer that constantly runs and uses 45,000k of ram. I am unable to
shut it down. There are also 9 windows host process servers
(svchost.exe) that have been running. At first these things did not
concern me but recently I installed a firewall that has repeatedly
notified me that these two programs are attempting to send and receive
information from many different ip addresses across a range of ports
in the 45000's. Even when the computer is idle they will attempt to
contect 10 or more times a day. The IP addresses that have been
blocked belong to google.com in Ann Arbor. The location is of major
concern to me as the person that I believed hacked me before was a
University of Michigan student living in Ann Arbor. How can I
determine if my computer has been hacked?
