A possible fix for RC1 burning problems

All,

I was having difficulty, as many others appear to be, at burning the RC1 ISO
- although I had no problems with Beta 2. I used Nero 7 with a burn speed of
1x but was getting verification errors. The only change that I can see is
that I think I was using Nero 6 for Beta 2, beyond that I don't think
anything has changed. After 3 failures I decided to try something else.

I downloaded ImgBurn, a freeware product, which is only about 1.7Mb in size.
I was dubious about its small size but, not only did I succeed in burning RC1
on the first try, it did the burn at 4x and provided the correct MD5 in the
log after verification. I also had to use a DVD-RW because I had no normal
disks left.

As for RC1 itself, I don't know yet, the upgrade is almost complete but I
thought I'd get this info out there. If you're having trouble, its worth a
go. Good luck!

I cant believe so many people are having problems getting vista onto a
bootable DVD. Solution - locate your downloaded ISO file and right click it
- in the resulting box select " open with" then select "choose programme" and
select nero burning ROM (nero 6 with latest updates works fine) this will
open burning ROM with your vista file loaded and click burn (having placed a
blank DVD -R will do fine) - Done!!

I used Nero 7 to burn RC1 and had no problem. You can't burn it as an ISO DVD
you need to burn it as a UDF DVD because of the size.

I was able to run the RC1 install from an external USB hard-drive using
DAEMON software without burning a DVD.

Jeeeeeeeeeeeeeez........ shocking that folks are still [after all these
years] having problems burning ISO's.

DVDDecrypter IS the easiest way and works 100% EVERYTIME.

Worked for me and everyone else thats EVER used it.

Ok, so I downloaded RC 1 and then used DVD decryp to burn the file to a
DVD-R, but then whenever I took the DVD out and then put it back in to
install, it said that "My Computer cannot run this version of the Operating
System. Can anybody help?

Fixed my problem.
