I'm researching my first homebuilt and have settled on the following parts so far:

* Kingswin KT-436 case (hope the blue model will be in stock somewhere soon)
* Antec TrueBlue480 PS
* Abit IC7-G Max II MB
* P4 3.0GHz

As far as vendors, these seem to be recommended:

** Newegg.com
** TigerDirect.com
** Xoxide.com

Now to research memory--Corsair TwinX vs. unmatched pair (Kingston,etc.)??

the 875p chipset is a waste of money unless you plan to use ECC RAM. you can
find everything the 875p boards have (except ECC RAM) in an 865pe board.

i would never order from tigerdirect or xoxide. pretty much everyone will
agree on tigerdirect. xoxide has some good ratings but i had a bad
experience with them and they were awful to deal with, eventually had to get
my credit card company to reverse the charge.

i like
www.newegg.com
www.googlegear.com
www.mwave.com
www.avlogic.com
www.pagecomputers.com
and even
www.buy.com
for certain things when they have free shipping.

find others using www.pricewatch.com and www.resellerratings.com

Anybody know of a vendor in the northeast that is like NewEgg?

I'm in Texas but I use Newegg instead of Directron because that way I
don't pay any taxes, plus it's still faster usually. Newegg rules.

I agree, but that doesn't answer my question. :)

WooduCoodu-I chose the 875p because of the native RAID 0 SATA support.
I don't really care about ECC RAM. Does the 865pe have SATA? Thanks.

yes, the 865pe boards have SATA. both the 875p and 865pe boards use the same
south bridge chipsets ICH5 or ICH5R but it depends on the motherboard
manufactures as to which features are actually implemented.

Why does it matter? I get stuff fast from them and unless it was local,
it's not going to really matter where they are located anymore..
