A NETWORK CABLE IS UNPLUGGED!!!!!!

Could someone please help!!
I am getting an icon with a red cross through it saying that my network cable is unplugged. But I dont no how to get rid of it. It is also stopping me from going on msn, pleases help. ASAP!!

Is it the LAN connection, and you don't have a network?
If so, rightclick the icon and choose Disable.
